Shepherding the Flock . . .

All over the world, God is calling pastors to shepherd His flock. The men and women who answer His call commit their lives to following The Great Commandment to love God and others (Matthew 22:37-40), and The Great Commission to go, make disciples, baptize and teach, leading others to a life of faith.

We invite you to pray for these leaders who have accepted God’s call on their lives. Pray that God will minister to His flock through them, that lives will be touched and transformed by His love. Pray that God will guide them as they prepare their sermon this week and every week, that they might share His Word effectively, feeding their flock, and leading them to a faithful life in Christ.

Pastoral trainers from all over the world will gather at the Global Proclamation Congress in Bangkok June 15-22 to encourage one another as they explore new opportunities and discover resources to help them in their mission. It is believed that 85% of pastors worldwide have as little as 1 hour of biblical training! Pastoral trainers represent a vital link to help local pastors receive the resources and training they are hungry for as they answer their call to serve God in ministry.

The Congress has asked us to pray for God’s protection and provision for the event. They are praising God for the 2769 registrants from 108 countries! And they invite us to pray for:
Financial resources for participants and for the convening organization
On the ground organization and logistics – pray for grace, wisdom, strength, and joy as they serve God in the areas of lodging, transportation, and volunteer coordination
Please pray for those who will attend the Congress, and those who will lead – that they may be strengthened and encouraged, and that God may be glorified.

Excitement is building at our office as we prepare for the Launch of Lystra Global at the Global Proclamation Congress in just 3 weeks! We invite you to pray for Dave Worland, President/CEO and Timothy Olonade, Vice President of International Training. These 2 men will be traveling to Thailand to represent Leadership Ministries Worldwide and to introduce Lystra Global, our new online curriculum and resource system.

More than 2,500 pastoral trainers, representing more than 100 countries, will gather at the Congress in Bangkok to encourage one another as they explore new opportunities and discover resources to help them in their mission. It is believed that as many as 85% of pastors worldwide have as little as 1 hour of  biblical training! Pastoral trainers represent a vital link to help local pastors receive the resources and training they are hungry for as they answer their call to serve God in ministry.

Lystra Global is one of the new resources they will learn about at the Congress in Thailand. LMW has partnered with like-minded training organizations to provide excellent curriculum and resources like The Preacher’s Outline & Sermon Bible® that will enable these trainers to reach more pastors, more churches, more communities with the life-transforming Word of God.

Please pray for our partners at Chattanooga Software who are developing the software for Lystra Global, and for all of those who are supporting, partnering, and encouraging us as we prepare for its upcoming launch. We also ask you to join us in praying for Dave, Timothy, and all the pastoral trainers who are attending the Congress.

P.J. Mathias (left), President of Maranatha Baptist Bible College and Seminary in Bangalore, visited our offices this week along with Bill Fortner of Frontline Fellowship, who works closely with the College and Seminary in Bangalore.

The seminary has had over 600 graduates since its start in 1998, and has planted 18 churches across India. Students there are hungry for biblical education, coming from all parts of India, Myanmar, Bangladesh, China and Nepal. Some of these students walked hundreds of miles from their homes to go to this school in Southern India.

Please pray for these dedicated students and the faculty that serves them. The faculty is very stretched with just 8 members and a current enrollment of over 150 students. P.J. and Bill ask us to pray for the students, faculty, and that God will provide for their every need in abundance.

Gideon Umukoro of Akure in Southwest Nigeria visited us at the Leadership Ministries Worldwide office this week. Last year we were able to provide Gideon with a complete New Testament set of The Preacher’s Outline & Sermon Bible® for seminary students in his country. Our hearts were touched to hear how much he appreciated the books:

“Thank you for the books. The gift of a book continues as they are shared with others. Pastors scramble to get them – as many as 3-4 will request to check them out each week as they prepare their sermons.”

Gideon is opening a ministry center in Lagos and wants to have these biblical materials available for pastors in and around the city of Lagos. He has found The Preacher’s Outline & Sermon Bible® to be an invaluable reference source that is easy to understand. The simplicity of the language makes it accessible to a carpenter, a farmer, a fisherman – but also useful for a seminary trained professional.
