Prison is a dark place

It is a blessing to know that ministries like Prison Fellowship are bringing light in the darkness. The scripture reminds us that we are to: “Remember those who are in prison, as though in prison with them.” Hebrews 13:3.

How often do we remember those in prison? God sees value in every person – the prisoner and the saint. This week we invite you to pray for those who are in prison, remembering the physical and spiritual darkness they are experiencing. Pray for those who work with Prison Fellowship and other prison ministries, reaching out to those who are broken, and need the light, grace, and salvation available through Jesus Christ.

Hundreds of volumes of The Preacher’s Outline & Sermon Bible®  have been sent to prisons this year for use in Bible studies and Christian teaching. Pray that God’s Word will be revealed to the prisoners, empowering them to turn their lives over to Jesus.

Food for thought

What a blessing it is to gather together and worship God, then share a meal and fellowship with a group of like-minded believers! When we thank God for the food before us, do we remember that there are many around the world who are hungry every day? Do we remember that there are those who don’t know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior?

This week, as you enjoy each meal, as you worship, study, and pray with a community of faithful believers, remember those around the world who are hungry, both physically and spiritually. Pray for God’s presence in their lives, and that He will meet their every need.

Let us give thanks for God’s Word, the Good News of Jesus Christ, bringing light to the darkness, wisdom for the ages, truth for eternity. Praise Him!

Please pray for the leaders of these conferences, that they may have divine insight and utterance to deliver God’s Word accurately. We also invite you to pray for enlightenment, financial resources, and God’s protection for all who are leading and participating in the conferences. It is exciting to see what God is doing in Nigeria!

The Global Proclamation Congress in Thailand ends this week. For one week, 3,000 Christian leaders from 112 countries gathered together to connect, unite, and strengthen global pastors. Please pray for those who gathered this week, that God may protect them and strengthen them as they share the gospel message around the world.

It is estimated that 85% of the world’s pastors have little or no training. We pray that the pastoral trainers who participated in the Congress will return to their homes and communities refreshed, encouraged, equipped and strengthened as they seek to fulfill the Great Commission to: “go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” Matt 28:19-20 (NIV)
