TN Pastor Reaches Romanians

September 24, 2014 By LMW

Many of us have heard how POSB continues to impact preachers, teachers and lay leaders. Pastor Bob Patty of Bartlebaugh Baptist Church in Chattanooga, Tennessee can testify to its impact as he recalls members in his church telling him his sermons were powerful and full of passion. This Tennessee pastor’s ministry has been radically changed. Pastor Bob Patty will tell you his ministry changed when he started using POSB in his own church and that it helped fuel his passion to introduce it to Romanian pastors and lay leaders after a 2012 trip to Romania. During that trip Bob was introduced to Pastor Nelu Aliman, a founding member of the National Baptist Mission Board in Romania. The POSB has the potential to reach its full impact when the Romanian people have their own Bibles. Bob and Pastor Aliman shared a vision of distributing the Bible to 10,000 people in Romania, along with the Preacher’s Outline & Sermon Bible® (POSB) for those who preach the Word.

Pastors Aliman and Patty’s vision ignited a passion to raise the money to translate and print POSB’s Romans, Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians and Colossians editions in Romanian.

By the end of 2013 eight thousand Bibles had already been purchased and distributed. Their goal of 10,000 Bibles required a lot of prayer for money and other resources to provide Romanian translations of God’s Word. In 2013 the Lord opened the door when Bob met a Romanian Gideon and was able to purchase more than 1,600 Bibles and New Testaments. God’s blessing did not stop there as Bob was able to distribute the Bibles and New Testaments and see the joy of the Romanians who received the Word and be a part of many people accepting Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior.

In 2013 Bob also conducted a conference on the Book of Romans with the goal of presenting everyone in attendance with a Romanian translation of Romans in the POSB. Nearly 200 individuals, including pastors, ministers, evangelists and other church workers, attended
the conference on Romans. An added blessing of Bob’s trip was presenting a number of complimentary copies of the then released Romanian
Galatians-Colossians volume of the POSB to Nelu Aliman and Crinel Ignat, another pastor in Romania. During that trip, Bob was also able to preach and teach in nine different churches across Western Romania with even more people coming forward and accepting Christ into their lives.

Early in 2014 Bob Patty returned to Arad, Romania teaching and distributing the Galatians-Colossians volume of the POSB in Romanian to approximately 200 pastors and deacons at a day-long conference at Maranata Baptist Church–all received copies of POSB’s most recent volume.

LMW is grateful to Pastor Bob Patty for using POSB and following the leadership of the Holy Spirit and making two men’s vision a reality in the lives of hundreds of pastors and leaders in Romania. There is great power in the preaching and teaching of God’s Word especially when pastors can become confidently equipped for every good work using the POSB!

Progress on Psalms

September 23, 2014 By LMW

Steady progress is being made by LMW in the ongoing work to complete the book of Psalms. Many hours of prayer and reflection have been invested thus far to ensure the integrity of this work. It takes time. We know many of our faithful users are anxious to get the rest of Psalms. The work is comprehensive and time-consuming but necessary to ensure the next two parts of the POSB maintain the same high standards our faithful users have come to expect from us over the years. Psalms-Part 1 includes chapters 1-41. Psalms-Part 2 (Chapters 42-89) is scheduled to release in 2015 and Psalms-Part 3 (Chapters 90-150) is on schedule for 2016. Please continue to pray for our writers, researchers and editors as they work hard writing, researching, editing and proofing.

His Word. His People. His Time.

September 23, 2014 By LMW

Preaching the Word of God is a holy and divine calling. When people assemble to hear someone preach the Word of God that is a divine appointment. God has placed the people in that place at His appointed time to hear His Word from the preacher. Preachers called to preach search for what God wants them to say to His people from His Word. Preachers ask God: “What word do you want me to speak to transform your people into the image of your Son Jesus Christ? How can pastors illuminate the vast truths of God’s Word?
Pray and Prepare
• All preaching starts with prayer for guidance and direction to illuminate God’s Word.
• Decide whether you want to address a topic, book, a passage or a specific verse.
• Trust your POSB for a verse-by-verse outline including content assimilated from over 200 commentaries, Bible and language sources.
• Using your POSB, access your desired text by book of the Bible or use the Master Subject Index.
Read and Study
• Read the Scripture verse/passage and refer to the outline as follows:
• Refer to the Subject Heading.
• Refer to the Subject Heading and then the Major Points of the text.
• Refer to the Subject Heading, Major Points, and then the Sub-Points of the text.
• Read the Commentary then pray, think, read it again, think some more, pray again.
Pray and Preach
• Pray and reflect on the most effective way to make your message from the Lord compelling and memorable.
• Close your message by giving ways to apply the Word of God–sometimes referred to as a call to action or walking points

Meet Our President, Dave Worland

September 23, 2014 By LMW

On April 1, 2014, Leadership Ministries Worldwide (LMW) announced that Dave Worland would be the organization’s new President and CEO. Prior to joining the LMW team, Dave served for 15 years as the Executive Vice President for the National Christian Foundation.

“Dave’s unique skill sets, extensive management experience in the non-profit sector coupled with his financial acumen, make him the right person as we continue to move forward at LMW,” said Richard Bethea, LMW Board Chairman.

Dave and Sally, his wife of 30 years, are the proud parents of four married children (two sons and two daughters), one grandchild with another due this October.

In the last 90 days Dave has worked closely with the board to align LMW’s purpose, mission, vision and strategic goal. The “strategic goal” is a God-sized opportunity. LMW intends to place Outline Bible Resources in the hands of one million leaders and equip them to present the life changing Gospel to millions more.

Recently Dave outlined his operational priorities and projects for LMW which included a stronger emphasis on establishing new channels and networks for the sale of our signature resource POSB as well as our other resources. To that end, LMW is finalizing negotiations with LOGOS, a company that provides on-line access to books and libraries for pastors, teachers, scholars and seminary students.

Dave is also shepherding LMW with other priorities including a renewed emphasis on sales and marketing materials, increased customer communication through our newsletter, The Expositor, updating the servers and computers, realigning the international strategies, conducting a pilot project for a new and potentially more efficient way to translate our materials, and making preparation for banquets this fall in Florence, SC and Chattanooga, TN
