Colombia Update

In 2015, we learned of pastors in northern Colombia who spent days traveling by canoe, motorcycle, and horseback for the opportunity to learn more about God’s Word and how to minister effectively in their remote communities. These pastors are dedicated to their calling and are hungry for biblical resources and education.

Generous donors, missionaries, and tutors responded to this need and established five learning centers in one year, each equipped with computers, printers, reliable internet service, and Spanish versions of The Preacher’s Outline & Sermon Bible®. At these centers, pastors receive online seminary training, and have access to a wealth of digital resources.

Because of your prayers and support, more than 1,000 Spanish language Preacher’s Outline & Sermon Bibles® are available in these learning centers. Pastors are encouraged to take a copy home to assist them with preaching and teaching.

They are enthusiastic about The Preacher’s Outline & Sermon Bible® – these resources are helping them understand the depth and richness of the Bible, and how to share the gospel with their congregation, friends, neighbors, and throughout the community.

We know that God’s Word can accomplish much as the Holy Spirit moves in the people across Northern Colombia. Thank you for partnering with us through your continued support and prayers.

A Message from the President: Growing and Changing

As I reflect on my second anniversary at Leadership Ministries Worldwide, it has been an honor and a privilege to walk alongside this dedicated staff and Board of Directors focused on providing The Preacher’s Outline & Sermon Bible® to trained pastors, leaders and scholars. It is clear that God is moving in big ways at Leadership Ministries Worldwide. We have seen an unprecedented number of pastors equipped, our materials have gone out to all corners of the world, and we are on the cusp of rolling out Lystra Global – our cloud-based training and translation system.

Already this year, 6,846 books were distributed free of charge to seminaries and training organizations that train and equip pastors in the Global South who are hungry for biblical materials. In the last month, Timothy Olonade, our Vice President of International Training, trained 353 leaders throughout Africa, including pastors, professionals, and leaders in Nigeria, Uganda, and Rwanda.

Our digital training platform, Lystra Global, will launch in June 2016 at the Global Proclamation Congress in Thailand – an event project to be attended by over 5,000 Bible trainers. Using Lystra Global, our training partners can make The Preacher’s Outline & Sermon Bible® and other biblical resources easily accessible to pastors and scholars around the world.

Psalms Volume 3 is scheduled for release this summer. This is an exciting event, hailing the completion of The Preacher’s Outline & Sermon Bible® series. More than 40 years have been dedicated to developing this amazing resource. We appreciate the part you have had in bringing us this far, and we invite you to partner with us in prayer as we celebrate all that God is doing through LMW.

Pray for Seminary Students and Leaders in India

P.J. Mathias (left), President of Maranatha Baptist Bible College and Seminary in Bangalore, visited our offices this week along with Bill Fortner of Frontline Fellowship, who works closely with the College and Seminary in Bangalore.

The seminary has had over 600 graduates since its start in 1998, and has planted 18 churches across India. Students there are hungry for biblical education, coming from all parts of India, Myanmar, Bangladesh, China and Nepal. Some of these students walked hundreds of miles from their homes to go to this school in Southern India.

Please pray for these dedicated students and the faculty that serves them. The faculty is very stretched with just 8 members and a current enrollment of over 150 students. P.J. and Bill ask us to pray for the students, faculty, and that God will provide for their every need in abundance.

Pray for Pastors in Africa

Gideon Umukoro of Akure in Southwest Nigeria visited us at the Leadership Ministries Worldwide office this week. Last year we were able to provide Gideon with a complete New Testament set of The Preacher’s Outline & Sermon Bible® for seminary students in his country. Our hearts were touched to hear how much he appreciated the books:

“Thank you for the books. The gift of a book continues as they are shared with others. Pastors scramble to get them – as many as 3-4 will request to check them out each week as they prepare their sermons.”

Gideon is opening a ministry center in Lagos and wants to have these biblical materials available for pastors in and around the city of Lagos. He has found The Preacher’s Outline & Sermon Bible® to be an invaluable reference source that is easy to understand. The simplicity of the language makes it accessible to a carpenter, a farmer, a fisherman – but also useful for a seminary trained professional.

Pray for Pastoral Trainers Worldwide

The Lord is calling pastors around the world to serve Him and His people. These pastors are hungry to understand the Bible and their call to ministry. They want to know how to meet the challenges they encounter daily among their congregants and within their community. They are sought out for biblical guidance and counseling, and they need a firm foundation to shepherd their people.

Please join us in praying for those who are using their God-given gifts to train these pastors, sharing God’s grace, and teaching sound doctrine.
