David Adegboye’s life changed when he accepted Christ as a young engineering student in 1974. As he grew in faith, he received a call into ministry, serving as a bi-vocational pastor for nine years before he became a full time pastor. Over his years in ministry he rejoiced to see the power of the gospel to change lives, especially among people who are persecuted for their faith. However, he has also seen the proliferation of the prosperity gospel throughout Africa, which has strengthened his resolve to empower pastors to preach the sincere Word of God.

Today he serves as a mentor and teacher, establishing others in the faith, just as he was discipled through the years, working in Nigeria and throughout Africa with Timothy Olonade, Vice President of International Training for LMW. He is an avid fan of LMW’s free online library and training platform, Lystra Global.

Pastor Adegboye uses Lystra Global as he trains pastors for preaching and teaching God’s Word. Pray for wisdom in a changing world

In the midst of a rapidly-changing world, the Word of God is alive and active. Where there is despair – the decline of family systems, poverty, injustice, division, war, disease – Christ brings hope.

We invite you to pray for the leaders of LMW – that God will give them wisdom and discernment as the ministry equips leaders for gospel centered ministry worldwide. New technologies and improved internet access are part of the changing landscape that can be used to distribute God’s Word – bringing hope to the world. May God grant LMW wisdom as we explore these new technologies and partner with ministries and individuals who are committed to sharing the gospel worldwide.

Pray for the Equipping of Pastors Worldwide

God is calling pastors to serve Him all over the world. Up to 85% of those called will be unable to attend seminary or receive biblical training. These faithful servants are crying out for biblical and theological resources that will help them preach, teach, and evangelize – transforming homes, neighborhoods, and entire communities as they share the gospel.
LMW’s partner ministry, The Theological Book Network, ships books and resources from their warehouse in Michigan to pastors and seminaries in remote parts of the world. The pastors who receive books are so grateful. We received this from a seminary leader in Zimbabwe: “The Preacher’s Outline & Sermon Bible® was a huge blessing for our library. Our dean was excited about its goodness and usefulness. We sent a batch to our satellite campus in Mozambique.”
Another shipment will be leaving soon to go to our partners and trainers in Nigeria. Please pray for the pastors who receive these books and resources – that God will enlighten and encourage them as they study His Word.

Pray for the Argentine Bible Society

Marcos Buzzelli of the Argentine Bible Society is working with LMW to implement a Spanish version of Lystra Global in Argentina. We are thankful for Marcos and the Argentine Bible Society’s partnership with LMW, and for the talents and skills he and his team are bringing to bear as we move forward to equip pastors with the materials they need – in their native language.

Please pray for Marcos and Rodrigo Guerra as they work on this project, and for the Argentine Bible Society, which is committed to equipping pastors across that land with biblical and theological materials.

Pray for Timothy Olonade, LMW’s Vice President of International Training

Today through February 4, Timothy Olonade will lead a pastor training event in Fugar City, Nigeria, for hundreds of pastors. These men and women are gathering to study the Bible and to learn more about their call, mission and ministry as pastors and leaders in the church.

Christianity is growing throughout Nigeria in spite of severe persecution. Many churches are planted, but quality biblical leadership is critical to their continued success. Please join us in praying for this training session in Nigeria, for the pastors who are participating, for Timothy, and for God’s Holy Spirit to move within His people as His name is proclaimed.

Pray for LMW’s Ministry Partner The Grace Institute

On January 22, leaders from The Grace Institute travelled to Uganda to serve two groups of pastors who have formed under The Good Shepherd Foundation. Those pastors who received Bibles the last time they visited are invited to a small conference room in the town. The Grace Institute will be teaching them the basics of studying their Bible and also the basics of expository preaching. This intimate small group setting is a sign of maturity within these groups of pastors.

Please pray for these leaders as they gather in Uganda: That God will reveal His Word in amazing ways; that they would be encouraged and enlightened as they continue in pastoral leadership; that the people of Uganda will be blessed as God’s Word spreads.
