WeDevote is a Bible study mobile app with international reach that allows users access to Chinese-focused biblical resources translated into their native language. With support of the 5 Core Languages project making translation of our resources into Chinese (and other languages) possible, our materials are able to be distributed on the WeDevote app and reach millions of Chinese users who wouldn’t otherwise be allowed by their government to obtain a physical print copy.
This past year, the Chinese government imposed further restrictions on internet activity. In response, WeDevote encouraged users to download their most essential resources, anticipating the platform could be shut down at any time. What was meant for evil, God worked into miraculous good. The challenges imposed by the Chinese government and expanded reach of the platform caused our resources to experience unprecedented reach of 4,757,371 downloads in 2023.
As of January 2024, we have 89% of our resources translated into Chinese and only half of our resources are available to download on WeDevote. We look forward to greater distribution as LMW Resources in Chinese serve as a foundational aid to so many studying God’s word in China and as the POSB Chinese translation is completed.
